ABOUT ME
MY STORYI’m a medical writer and journal editor based in Sydney, Australia. I was born in Singapore and studied medicine at the University of Oxford before working as a doctor in England for several years.
My first book, Jackfruit and Blue Ginger, a plant-based cookbook exploring the food and flavours of Southeast Asia, was published by Murdoch Books in 2019. It was also released in the US as East Meets Vegan by The Experiment.
Alongside my nonfiction work, I write speculative fiction that explores identity, desire, belonging and the complicated ways people understand themselves and one another. My writing has been shortlisted for the HG Wells Short Story Competition in 2022 and longlisted for The Book Edit’s Writer’s Prize in 2024.
I have Indian and Eurasian heritage, and my writing is often interested in the tensions and contradictions that come with occupying more than one world.
